“The year 1957 marked the beginning of plastic fittings production at Georg Fischer. Five decades have elapsed since then—an opportune time to look back on past developments, give consideration to the present state of affairs and set our sights on the future in relation to this material. We are at a point in history, when such topics as globalization, new market segments, reduction of manufacturing costs are at the top of our priority list. Creating novelties is naturally also still on our agenda. The innovativeness of yesteryear—as well as the pioneering atmosphere—have been kept alive in our company and even cultivated so that it has grown. Over the years, a number of employees have shown an astounding capacity for innovation. This book is an expression of our esteem for the accomplishments achieved, while also attempting to capture and present an important chapter in the recent history of industrial development.”
